''Having never used Airbnb before I thought I would give it a try. I had never visited the Lake District before either and originally had a hostel booked but when I came across this beautiful lodge owned by May I thought it would make the whole trip perfect and it did. The lodge was in a tranquil setting and perfectly located to get to every inch of the Lake District. It was super comfy and very spacious to be honest plus the added bonus of super fast WIFI was helpful especially as mobile reception is sketchy in the Lake District. May had left out some cakes and sweets and bottled water upon arrival which was a nice touch. There is an awesome log fire which I tried and was not disappointed with either and most importantly the beds for me and my guests were comfortable and perfect to sink into after a tiring day outside in the elements. I cannot recommend this lodge highly enough, on a final note all I can say to people out there is that why stay in a hostel or hotel and end up disappointed when a beautiful lodge such as this one owned by the fantastic May (who we met on Sunday) offers everything you could wish for and more. Did I mention the collection of awesome dvds to watch...The Goonies......Gremlins....Face Off....There's Something About Mary to mention a few, the latter we watched. ''The Lodge is really nice and modern and feels spacious. It has a lovely veranda out front where you can have coffee and watch the sheep grazing only a short distance away. The kitchen is really good. It's not too far from Penrith and it's easy to access the lake district. Highly recommended place to stay if your looking for a country retreat.''
''We had a fabulous time staying at Herdy View. The beds were so comfy we found it hard to get up each morning! The chalet is beautifully decorated and very spacious, and has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. May's pre trip emails made is feel very welcome - overall a wonderful experience. This beautiful chalet comes highly recommended on here - and with good reason. What a stunning setting - it's a great feeling to open the curtains to the big window at the front and see all the countryside, including the local sheep in the next field. The chalet is spacious, comfortable and May really makes you feel welcome. We drove to Ullswater one day and then Keswick the next - the location is great, you're only a short distance away from these kind of places. Pubs such as the Queens Head are nearby too, so you're not short of somewhere great to eat (and doggy friendly). The chalet itself enjoys a cul-de-sac location, it is so peaceful! Really, really happy with our first AirBnB experience - thanks so much May, you deserve all the praise you're getting on here.

''My partner, our nearly three year old son and I had a lovely, relaxing break at Herdy View. It's so peaceful with stunning views and the chalet itself is nice and cosy. Everything we needed was on hand - the chalet is very well furnished and presented - May has excellent taste and clearly enjoys travel which is something that appealed to us. It's so handy being close to shops and other amenities in Penrith yet far enough away to be a little haven of tranquility. Highly recommended! Thanks again to May for having us.
